Have Questions?
Keep your equipment running reliably with our easy-to-use megohmmeter, also known as an insulation resistance tester. Specifically recommended for diagnosing 3-phase motors, this essential tool helps detect internal shorts to ground within stator windings—one of the most common causes of motor failure.
Featuring a clear, color-coded analog scale, the megohmmeter makes it simple to interpret results at a glance:
🔴 Red indicates poor insulation (bad)
🟡 Yellow signals caution
🟢 Green confirms good motor health
Whether you're troubleshooting downtime issues or conducting preventative maintenance, this tool provides fast and accurate insights to help you avoid costly repairs and unplanned equipment failure.
We highly recommend this tool to any owner of electronic motors. We use them everyday at JPM when performing service work on equipment.

Directions for Use:
Warning: Before disconnecting ANY motor leads make sure all of the wires are clearly marked. Each motor lead should identified with a "T" number. For example, if you have 6 motor leads you should have T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 & T6 clearly marked.
Step 1:
Disconnect all motor leads from the contact block or drum switch.
Step 2:
Attach the black wire on the megohmmeter to a ground on the mixer. For the most accurate results, attach it directly to the core of the stator.
Step 3:
Make sure the motor leads are not touching each other, or any other surface. They must be free-floating to prevent erroneous results.
Step 4:
Attach the red wire on the megohmmeter to T1 and press the red button on the device.
🔴 Red indicates poor insulation (bad)
🟡 Yellow signals caution
🟢 Green confirms good motor health
Step 5:
Repeat the process on each motor lead to complete the test.
